Pacific Unitarian
Universalist Fellowship
820 Alameda Avenue - Astoria - Oregon - service at 11 a.m.
The children's religious education will spend this church year (2009 - 2010) studying the world's great religions. First we will study Islam. Kids will be shown how to say "God is great" in Arabic, they will get to see and, if they want, kneel on a real prayer rug. During the course of the year, we will also explore Buddhism, Judaism, the earth-based religions, and Christianity.
We welcome children of all ages to our little class, which always begins upstairs with the adults at 11:00. A few minutes into the service, there is a "Moment with Children", when kids of all ages are welcome to come up and listen to a story. Then the children go downstairs with two teachers where religious ideas are explored in many, many ways. After class, they reunite with the congregation and their families during our closing song.
If you feel your child would benefit from knowing about the great religions of the world, bring your family to church! We welcome all ages. For more information, call Nancy Logan at 360 665 0552.
